What this site is

Survivor Michigan runs a stock-market game for members of the Survivor Michigan club at the University of Michigan. Players get play money, buy and sell shares in the season's castaways, and compete on the standings. No real money is involved.

What we collect

• From Google sign-in: your name, your @umich.edu email address, and your Google profile photo. We don't get your password or access to anything else in your Google account.
• What you add: a display name and, if you upload one, a profile photo. Uploaded photos are cropped and shrunk in your browser before upload, which also strips the location data phones attach to pictures.
• Your game activity: your play-money balance, the shares you hold, and your trades.

Who can see it

Everyone signed in to the game can see players' names, email addresses, profile photos, trades, holdings, and standings. That's the game: the feed and standings are shared. Game data isn't visible to people who aren't signed in, and only @umich.edu accounts can sign in. Photos are served from unlisted links, so someone who has a photo's exact link can open it.

Where it's stored

Accounts, game data, and uploaded photos are stored with Supabase. The site is hosted on Vercel, which, like any web host, processes request logs. We don't run ads or analytics, we don't use tracking cookies (only the cookie that keeps you signed in), and we never sell or share your information.

Deleting your data

Ask any Survivor Michigan host and we'll delete your account and everything tied to it. You can also switch back from an uploaded photo to your Google photo at any time from your account menu.
